About us

Synergy One Building is a family owned and operated Building Company, established in 2000, by John Whineray.

 

Having entered the building industry over forty years ago as an apprentice to his father, John is continuing the family tradition of building and construction. He is delighted that this proud tradition will continue, with his daughter currently studying architecture and sons keen to be involved in the industry as well.

 

We specialise in construction of quality new architecturally designed homes and high end alterations and additions to existing houses. Our experience is broad ranging, from the ultra modern to heritage buildings. More recently, as Sydney has become more densely populated, we’ve embarked upon construction of Boutique Apartment Blocks and apartment re-modelling with a special focus on space saving solutions.

 

John and Synergy One Building hold Class 1 and Class 2 building licences and have capability to contract projects to a value of eight million dollars.

 

We like to think of ourselves as a big ‘little fish’. We choose to limit the number of large projects we do each year, so that we can offer our clients a more personalised building experience. It’s our point of difference. Not only does the client get an enormous amount of experience, but they also get dedicated time and access to John and every member of his team. It’s important to us that our clients enjoy the building experience and the creation of their new family home.

 

Each project is overseen by John with the daily project management of the sites operated by experienced Construction Managers, all of whom are qualified builders themselves. Most of our senior team members have been with us since the early 2000s, and so we are a well oiled machine.

 

 Our experienced and dedicated team also consists of Carpenters, Labourers and Apprentice Carpenters who we train to a high skill level to meet the demands of quality finishes.

 

We also have a large talented team of sub-contractors who we enjoy working with because of their professionalism and attention to detail. John and his team are ably assisted by office personnel who take care of day-to-day administration such as contracts, licensing, OH&S Safety, and certification. In addition, we work with two quantity surveyors, who we are able to refer clients to, for an assessment of likely building costs.  

 

Synergy One Building’s enviable reputation allows us to rely on client referrals as well as repeat business from a number of highly talented Architects and Designers. We are proud to have been the builder of choice for a number of our Architect’s own homes and those of their families.

 

We are particularly pleased to be able to say that many of our clients, staff, and architects have been working with us for the last twenty to thirty years. In fact, many of our newer clients are the children of existing clients. That means we’ve been doing this for a long time because we’re professional and good at what we do.

 

Keep in mind, we also undertake a number of smaller builds each year for new and existing clients, so don’t think we just do the big stuff, and although we are Sydney based, in certain instances we have built holiday homes in the Lake Macquarie area and Berowra Waters basin.
